CIVIC ALLIES CONSULTING

Erika has nearly 20 years experience working within philanthropic, nonprofit and corporate circles to improve the lives of young people.  At Civic Allies Consulting, she aids local Chambers of Commerce and other clients in building strength and capacity of the business community, specifically in non-traditional areas that lead to lasting civic change.

 

Her career has spanned many sectors — including work with the Salvation Army, City of Hope, University of Florida, Monroe Harding, and the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

 

As Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, she honed her expertise building cross-sector partnerships.  She built the Chamber Foundation's capacity into a multi-million dollar 501(c)3, advancing corporate and philanthropic partnerships that resulted in positive outcomes for the youth of Los Angeles.  

 

Erika first became excited by the possibilities of cross-sector partnerships while obtaining her Masters of Public Administration from University of Southern California. At USC she worked on several projects focusing on quasi-governmental agencies and the role of non-profits in creating systemic change. 

 

Erika is an active member of many community groups and a proud Rotarian.  She spends her spare time on Bainbridge Island with her husband – an investigative journalist – their toddler and rescue dog.  When not exploring nearby trails and the beach she can be found in local bookstores or at the library.
